I think I'll die of happiness come October when I'll get to wear that stunning polka-dotted blouse and skirt in the second image. Jolie, non?

Fall/winter...in summer
As I sit here sweltering in ridiculous August-in-Bermuda heat, my thoughts are turning to the fall/winter collections. There are really only two seasons here -- summer and winter (yes, winter -- and it's colder than most people think) -- but this year I'm determined to dress in blatant disregard of the norm; that is, I'm going to pretend that there is an autumn in Bermuda, even though everyone else might not think so. While in Toronto last week, where fall collections -- warm, bookish, pumpkin-picking-appropriate, snuggly -- reigned, I was drawn to the rich russets, cognacs, teal blues and burgundies of the fall collections. So lovely. My next trip will be to France and this is what I'll be picking up from my favourite store, Maje:
I'm not very good at this, am I?
I started this blog with high hopes and of course, real life ended up getting in the way. Shortly after I wrote my previous post, we decided to turn our lives upside down and buy a puppy. Percy has been the love of our lives for the past seven months. We bought him when he was a tiny 10 week-old snowball and he has kept us very busy since. I like to joke that with his four paws, he's the equivalent of two human children with a seemingly endless supply of frenetic energy to boot. I'll try not to inundate this blog with too much cuteness but I might not be able to resist. Case in point:
This photo happened by accident (and was woefully snapped using my BlackBerry -- couldn't get to my Nikon quickly enough) as I turned round to see him sitting beside my MacBook Pro, in a rare moment of repose, which showed a desktop image of him at 14 weeks old. Percy was almost nine months old when I took this picture.
Onto other things -- I've recently started an unhealthy obsession with Byredo perfumes despite their eyewatering price tags. One whiff of Bal d'Afrique (bergamot, lemon, neroli) and I was sold. I have my sights set on Gypsy Water (bergamot, lemon, pepper) and Blanche (white rose, pink pepper, aldehyde), not to mention one of the fabulous leather travel cases to cart these fragrances around in when I'm next jetting off somewhere.
